Delaware County Fairgrounds - Image 1

Welcome to Off-the-Trail Stop 1! You are standing at 9 Fair Street — the Delaware County Fairgrounds.

Since 1887, these historic grounds have been the heart of Delaware County's agricultural heritage and community tradition. Every August, thousands of visitors gather here for the Delaware County Fair — one of the longest-running and largest agricultural fairs in New York State.

The fairgrounds feature historic wooden grandstands, agricultural exhibition halls, livestock barns, and a famous harness racing track. Long before modern entertainment, local farmers brought their prized cattle, draft horses, hand-crafted goods, and farm produce to compete for blue ribbons and share innovations in farming.

Throughout the year, the fairgrounds host community events, auctions, horse shows, and gatherings that preserve the rural Catskill spirit. Standing here at 9 Fair Street, you are at a cornerstone of Delaware County's living history.
